Vyacheslav Khursenko (1966–2009) was a Ukrainian singer, composer, and songwriter, a prominent figure in the Ukrainian pop scene. He wrote and performed popular ballads. His most famous song is "Sokolyata," which he wrote for his friend Vasyl Zinkevich. Other popular compositions include "Na ostrovi chekannya," "Spovid," "Panyuє nich," and "Vira, Nadiya, Lyubov." His music was distinguished by deep lyricism, melody, and sincere lyrics. The artist's life was tragically cut short at the age of 43 in September 2009 due to a diabetic attack while fishing. Khursenko is considered one of Ukraine's most talented melodists, whose songs continue to be performed by other artists.
